Government Sends Notice To States On Female Foeticide
India’s Supreme Court issued notice to the States on a petition seeking a direction for strict implementation of the Pre-Conception and Pre-Natal Diagnostic Techniques (Prohibition on Sex Selection) Act, 1994 to prevent female foeticide. Gender selection of a boy baby or a girl baby by abortion is prohibited.
